Selected relevant projects:

• Designing a grid-tied and solar-powered electric vehicle (EV) charging station. The technical and financial feasibility analyses entailed design optimization and profit maximization considering charging tariffs, feed-in tariffs, and energy arbitrage opportunities.
• Determining the optimal location of charging stations for an EV fleet using a deterministic flow-capturing location-allocation model.
• Research on battery degradation models based on changes in rates of chemical reactions inside battery cells subjected to accelerated testing in different conditions such as temperature and charging rate.
• Review of different topologies for battery cell balancing and simulations for inductive active balancing to
protect cells and improve the performance of a battery pack with cells showing imbalances due to intrinsic and extrinsic differences.
• Best practices and an algorithm for battery cell sorting for second life storage applications.
